Student Travel Award Submission for 2012 Meeting
Please note that we have a limited pool of funds to draw from for the student travel awards. Awards are made in an attempt to cover lodging, travel, and registration. Applicants who receive an award can expect somewhere between $100-$450 depending on demonstrated need and how much we make at the auction. Please, encourage people to bid, and bid well, as it will fund more and larger awards! If you have items to donate, or know someone who does, send them to

Awards are given out in the following order of preference:
1. Presenting a talk
2. Presenting a poster
3. Other students
Additional consideration may be given if:
1. Member of the official Student Committee (who put the post-Banquet auction together and raise the DME funds and perform many other activities for the student members), OR a member of the student crew working the registration desk or contributing significantly to meeting preparation (especially in years when other funds may not be available to offset meeting expenses for the latter)
2. Nearing completion of degree and will not have subsequent chances at an award
3. Traveling from extreme distances
4. Documented demonstration of unusual and extreme financial hardship (e.g. victims of natural disasters).
