This is a milestone year for the Society, as our annual meeting will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Western Society of Naturalists! The annual meeting will be held November 10–13, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa in Monterey, California. #WSN100

MEETING REGISTRATION AND CALL FOR PAPERS/POSTERS

The full meeting program is now available, including the schedule of symposia, plenary talks, contributed talks, posters, and other events. The program (including a version with the full abstracts) can be downloaded here. Guidelines for presenters can be found here.  Online registration is now closed, but you may still register in person at the meeting.  To do so, please come to the registration desk where you will be asked to pay your WSN membership and meeting registration fees, plus a $20 late-registration fee.  With over 500 contributed talks and posters, and over 850 attendees registered so far, we are looking forward to an exciting, and well-attended meeting. See you in Monterey!

For those not presenting, please register for the meeting by October 20, 2016 to avoid late-registration fees. Given that the abstract deadline is only 6 weeks before the meeting, please be aware that WSN is unable to accept any late abstracts (sorry, no exceptions).

As with the Annual Meeting in 2015, we will be organizing several Special Topic Sessions of contributed talks. You can read more about these topics here.

Please see our new list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding Abstracts and Meeting Registration.

Location

All workshops, symposia, and contributed paper and poster sessions will be held in the meeting rooms of the Hyatt Regency Hotel (find driving directions and general hotel information here). The hotel offers WSN attendees free parking, complimentary wireless connection in the hotel rooms, complimentary tennis court time, and many other amenities.

Room rates of $199/night for a standard King or double room with 1–2 occupants, $224/night for 3 occupants, and $249/night for 4 occupants per room. These rates will apply until October 1, 2016.  In recent years, the reserved block of rooms has sold very quickly and WSN anticipates that the 100th Anniversary of WSN will make for a very well attended meeting. Also, please note that the annual meeting will be held the same weekend as the Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay, so make your reservations early! A special WSN reservations link for the Hyatt Regency can be found here.
